There are many cars in Japan that has only 660cc engine with very small foot print. But they are incredibly roomy and nimble to drive and very economical. Is it safe ... I don't think so. I would not want to be in those cars when you have an accident. But, it is a lot safer than a say motorcycle.
I saw many small cars in Europe as well when I went there. I think it is only in America where people are buying big cars with big V8 engines. All I can say is, let's enjoy when we can.
