I Published a Book on Amazon
Over the years, I’ve shared various Japanese words and philosophy that I hold close to my heart. However, newer posts quickly push blog posts and social media content down, meaning users are less likely to read them. So, I decided to take 88 of the words and ideas I’ve written about and put them together into a book.
The book is called 88 Japanese Wisdom — For Business, Leadership, and Life
This book isn't meant to preach or force my ideas on anyone, but simply a collection of Japanese phrases that ground me in my work and personal life, translated into English. Rather than reading the book from beginning to end, I hope you’ll keep it close and open it up to a random page whenever you feel like it.
I handled the entire self-publishing process on my own—from writing and editing to cover design, ISBN registration, and listing it on Amazon. Since I had never published a book before, I made plenty of mistakes. At one point, I even publicly announced the launch before realizing the book wasn't actually available for purchase yet, and I had to retract the post.
Despite the stumbles, I researched every step, fixed the errors, and eventually published both the paperback and Kindle editions on Amazon.
This experience reminded me that things gradually take shape when you jump in and try, even if you start without any knowledge. No one gets it right on the first attempt, and learning through trial and error is part of the journey.
I hope this book becomes something you will enjoy picking up and opening from time to time. And if you enjoy it, perhaps I'll take on the challenge of writing another book someday.

I was born and raised in Japan and have spent most of my adult life in the United States. Through this blog, I share Japanese culture, language, expressions, and wisdom. My goal is not to say one culture is better, but to explore different perspectives and what we can learn from them.
