If Not Now, When? If Not Me, Who?

If Not Now, When? If Not Me, Who?
 
“If it is not done now, when will it be done? If I do not do it, who will?”
 
Thinking alone does not make anything happen. When we tell ourselves, “I will do it someday,” that day may never come. And if we wait for someone else to act, the result may not be what we hoped for.
 
These powerful words are attributed to Denchu Hirakushi（平櫛田中）, one of Japan’s most respected sculptors:
 
“If not now, when can it be done?
If not by me, then by whom?”
 
Hirakushi continued creating art beyond the age of 100 and remained active until his death at 107.
 
We do not need to wait until everything is perfect. If we make a mistake, we can correct it. If we fail, we can learn from it. But if we never begin, we learn nothing.
 
Do it now. And take responsibility for doing it yourself.
 
In business and in life, I believe this determination is what ultimately opens a new path.
