Start Small: Automate the Work You Do by Hand
When you want to increase productivity, your first step does not have to be implementing a large ERP system.
Start by looking at the work you are doing manually every day.
Are you entering the same information into spreadsheets? Copying data from one system to another? Creating the same reports repeatedly? Sending routine notifications? Tracking approvals by email?
Create software to replace that manual work first.
A full ERP system can be powerful, but it can also require a significant investment in implementation, customization, training, maintenance, and ongoing support. You may end up changing the way your company works just to fit the software.
At PSPINC, we take a different approach.
We start by creating a simple custom program that solves one specific problem. Reduce repetitive work. Eliminate unnecessary data entry. Make information easier to find. Automate reports and approval processes.
Then we can add AI.
AI becomes much more useful when it has organized business data and a clearly defined process to work with. It can help summarize information, prepare reports, identify patterns, search internal data, draft responses, and assist employees in making faster decisions.
You do not need to build an expensive “AI system” from day one.
First, automate the manual work. Then collect and organize the data. Then use AI where it can actually save time and improve productivity.
Once the system proves its value, we can add the next function and then the next. Eventually, these small systems may grow into something as capable as an ERP system—but built around the way your company actually works.
Start with the work that wastes your time today. Add AI where it makes sense. Grow from there.
Software and AI should adapt to your business.
Your business should not have to adapt to the software.
Disclaimer: I use AI as a tool to help create images and proofread my writing. However, the ideas, opinions, experiences, and messages in my posts are my own. AI does not generate my posts for me. It simply helps me present my own words and ideas more clearly.
